The importance of paint protection when buying a new car is always over looked, these products are great at keeping your car cleaner for longer by releasing beads of water that will run off the paint, it also helps by protecting the surface from contamination such as tree sap, bird droppings, tar and other environmental impacts that are damaging to your paint work.



Paint Protection gets its bad name from dealerships promising it does something that it actually doesn’t. These products sold by car dealerships are usually nothing more then a paint sealant and only last a short time – usually 12-18 months at the most, they usually have strong marketing behind them promising the customer their paint will be protected from the most damaging impacts.



Due to people being misinformed about these products and being promised something they don’t do it has received a lot of bad reviews over the years with people saying paint protection from dealerships are rubbish or a rip off, the other cause of this is the price these dealerships charge, usually around the $1200-2000 mark.



The other reason why paint protection has a bad name is because they market the product with a lifetime warranty, which makes the customer think the product last a lifetime. This is partly the fault of the customer thinking a "lifetime warranty" means it last a lifetime, when actually its stating the warranty is for a lifetime.
